The annual Greater Chicago Food Depository Hunger Walk was the place to be in Chicago on Saturday morning June 26. This was my first time attending and I must say it was a very impressive event! The 5K walk started at Soldier Field and followed the shore of Lake Michigan. Thousands of people came out to show their commitment to end hunger on an incredibly beautiful day.

Funds raised from the walk directly benefit the Food Depository’s network of 650 food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters. Nearly 678,000 people each year rely on the food provided by the Greater Chicago Food Depository network.

My video should give you a good idea of just how many people showed up to support the cause, the fun activities of the day and a sense of how hot it was! Whew!
